Young Talents for Hanseatic Music

The EU-funded Young Talents for Hanseatic Music (YTHM) project gives young musicians the opportunity to discover and perform the vocalinstrumental ensemble music of the Hanseatic period on and with large organ instruments built in the historical style. In seeking a sound representative of ensemble music around 1600, the significance of large pipe organs is indisputable, yet there are few places in Europe where it is still possible to become immersed in this unique soundworld. Thanks to the cooperation between Orlando e.V., Göteborg International Organ Academy and Stichting Groningen Orgelstad, on concert tours in 2026 and 2027, selected participants of the masterclasses (2025 and 2026) will be given the opportunity to explore performance situations as they likely were at the time of the Hanseatic composers.

The organists selected for the Lübeck masterclasses will also have the opportunity to take part in the courses of the Schnitger Academy in Gothenburg.
